Profile
A cadet of the 104th whose first real battle ended about thirty seconds in, head-down off a rooftop, and who is alive afterwards only because of what somebody was willing to do to his leg.
The Anchor Through His Leg
Half a minute into the first real battle of his life a rooftop comes apart under him and he goes off it head-first, unconscious, with nothing on his gear responding. Sasha Blouse fires an anchor through his leg and pins him to the wall. It dislocates the leg, and it is the only reason there is a leg left to dislocate.
The Dock at the Harbour
Years later he is on the same dock as Daz, in the same Yeagerist uniform, doing the job the island's army has given him: the flying boat stays where it is. What ends it is a rifle held by somebody he graduated with, who had no third option and knew exactly whose face he was looking at.
