Connie Springer is a nimble, quick-witted recruit in the 104th Cadet Corps whose easygoing sarcasm and nervous humor belie a firm determination to survive the harsh apprenticeship; he moves with sprinter's speed and often trades barbs and drill work with peers such as Jean Kirstein and Marco Bott, earning both lighthearted ridicule and reluctant respect.
Choosing the Fight Beyond the Walls
Connie Springer gives up the chance to seek a safer post in the Military Police and chooses to continue fighting the Titans beyond the Walls. The decision turns his quick instincts and survival drive toward a harsher duty, binding him to the same dangerous path taken by other former cadets of the 104th Cadet Corps.
Returns to Ragako
Connie Springer reaches his home village of Ragako during the search for the breach in Wall Rose and finds it in ruins. A motionless Pure Titan lies across what was once his family home, yet no bodies or clear signs of evacuation can be found. The absence of answers leaves him deeply unsettled, and he begins to suspect that something unusual has happened to the villagers.
Defends Castle Utgard
During the assault on Castle Utgard, Connie Springer joins the desperate defense against a relentless wave of Pure Titans. As the battle pushes the defenders to their limits, he is nearly overwhelmed before Reiner Braun pulls him to safety, allowing him to continue fighting alongside the remaining soldiers through the night.
Joins the Mission to Recover Eren
After Reiner and Bertholdt reveal themselves, Connie Springer joins the force pursuing them to rescue Eren Yeager. Struggling to accept the betrayal of comrades he trusted, he confronts Bertholdt Hoover directly, demanding an explanation for everything that has happened before continuing the pursuit.
Helps Investigate Ragako
After the battle to recover Eren Yeager, Connie Springer returns to Ragako with Hange Zoë to continue investigating the village's fate. He retraces the strange evidence left behind, hoping to discover what happened to the missing residents and find answers about the destruction of his home.
Turning a Weapon on Men
Hunted with the rest of Levi's squad after Eren and Historia are seized, Connie Springer plays his part in the trap set for Kenny's Anti-Personnel Control Squad in Trost District. Helping overpower the Interior Police forces him to admit what the regiment has become: soldiers fighting people, not Titans, and his usual jokes come harder afterwards.
Assault on the Reiss Chapel
Connie Springer joins the assault on the cavern beneath the Reiss Chapel to recover Eren Yeager and Historia. The speed that once only made him quick in training keeps him alive underground, where the enemy carries firearms and there is barely any surface left for a grapple to bite into.
Standing Against Rod's Titan
Connie Springer fights at the Battle of Orvud District as the Scouts and the Garrison hold the wall against Rod Reiss's Titan with the town emptied behind them. Having already found a Titan lying across his own home in Ragako, he stands his ground before a giant big enough to erase an entire district.
Leaves with Ragako Unanswered
When the regiment rides out toward Shiganshina District, Connie Springer leaves with the question of Ragako still open. For the first time the people cheer the Scouts through the streets instead of cursing them, but the ruined village and everyone who vanished from it stay behind him, unexplained.
Breaks the Armored Titan's Jaw
With three Thunder Spears left, Connie follows Jean's final plan against Reiner. Jean draws the attack while Connie and Sasha strike at opposite hinges of the Armored Titan's jaw. Sasha's shot is thrown off, but Connie's lands, leaving one hinge for Hange and opening the mouth for Mikasa's finishing blow.
Hold On Until the Island
He is the one crouched over Sasha on the floor of the airship telling her to hold on, they are nearly home. She does not make it. He goes and tells the others himself, and what he reports as her last word is "meat".
What Was Funny About It
He finds out that when the news of her death reached Eren, Eren laughed. Connie corners Mikasa and demands she explain it to him — not what it meant, not what Eren is planning, just what part of it was funny. Nobody gives him an answer, and he stops looking for one.
His Mother Is Still in There
A boy in their custody has the Jaw Titan in him now, and Connie has spent years knowing what is lying on the roof of his house in Ragako. If a shifter eats him, the shifter becomes human again. He argues it out loud — Reiner was saved exactly this way — and then he takes Falco and rides north.
He Could Not Do It
He tells the boy he is taking him to a hospital for his memory, and rides him to Ragako instead. Armin catches up and offers to climb into the Titan's mouth in Falco's place — and Connie hauls him back out at the last second, because a mother who ate a friend of her son's would not have been saved, she would have been made worse.
He Shot Two of His Own Year
On the dock at the harbour, Daz and Samuel are about to kill Armin and put the flying boat on the bottom of the port. They graduated with him. Connie shoots them both, and there is no third option anywhere in the ten seconds he has to find one.
The Job He Always Did
Over the Founder's back every holder the Nine ever had is standing up out of the bone, and nothing cut down stays down. Connie works it the way he has worked every fight since Trost: gear, blades, and Mikasa and Jean in the same sky full of grabbing hands. No Titan of his own, and there at the end anyway.
The Titan on His Roof
The power ends everywhere at once and every Titan ever made is a person standing in a field — including the one lying across the roof of his house in Ragako. He spent four years certain that the only way to get his mother back was to feed somebody to her. In the end nobody had to be fed to anybody.
