Profile
A boy from the camps Marley's war in the east left behind, living in a Marleyan city on whatever he can lift. He is not Eldian and owes nobody an ancient debt, and he is treated as disposable regardless.
The Pocket He Picked
One of the children Marley's war in the east left with nowhere to be, working a Marleyan street. The purse he takes belongs to Sasha and Levi catches him with it. The people around them demand the punishment reserved for a refugee thief; the visiting Scouts pretend the boy belongs to them and get him out before anyone can take his hand.
The Apology He Could Not Understand
When merchants catch him stealing, Eren drives them off and carries him back to the camp. Ramzi cannot understand a word when the stranger drops to his knees, starts crying and apologises to him. Eren admits that saving the island is not the whole truth: when he learned humanity had survived beyond the Walls, he was disappointed, and part of him wanted it all erased. The boy he already knows he will kill can only watch him weep.
The Camp Behind the City
Ramzi persuades his grandfather to invite the strangers into the camp as thanks for bringing him home. The Scouts spend the night eating, drinking and dancing with refugees from Marley's war in the east — people who are not Eldian, owe nobody a thousand-year debt and are treated as disposable anyway. It is the last night all of them spend together.
The Home Inside the Sack
By the time the Rumbling reaches the continent, his right hand has been cut off as punishment and he is still stealing. He shows Halil the coins hidden in a sack: when it is full, there will be enough to move everyone in the camp out of the tents where winter kills them. If Ramzi dies first, Halil is to give the money to the others. The ground begins to shake before the sack is full.
The Rumbling Reached Him
The Wall Titans reach the city and the refugee camp runs with everyone else. Ramzi drops the sack; Halil turns back for it and Ramzi goes back for him. Falling masonry kills Halil and crushes Ramzi's legs. Unable to move, Ramzi glimpses a small girl standing in the dust before a Titan's foot comes down over both boys. Eren's apology was for a death he already knew he would cause.
