ODM Training
The Attack on Titan game where you fly the omni-directional mobility gear.
Hook onto posts, clear palisades, cut the napes of training dummies and large titans, and ride your cable up to the napes of the forest's giants. Cut branches and beams, catch the final rope and soar onto the last wall. Chain feats to multiply your points.
«Let’s see if you can use that.» — Instructor
Hold to hook on, let go to leap.Hold Space or press the flight area: the cable bites into whatever is marked in gold. While you hold you swing; let go on the upswing and you fly forward. On tall posts, hook from afar: a long cable carries you further.
Dodge or cut.Fly over small titans, or cut their napes when their backs are turned: you do not have to, but it lifts you a little, adds to your streak and charges Boost. The wooden dummies in the city cannot be jumped: go for the nape and press E or Cut; when you are close, the gear throws you onto it. Large titans come down the same way, but only while their backs are turned. In the forest, giants carry their napes too high for that: when one turns its back, hook the nape with your cable, let it pull you up, and cut before it shakes you off. After the cut you fly up toward another post. In the forest, cut the branches blocking the lane; in the ruins, do the same to broken beams. At the end, release the last post toward the rope. It catches you automatically for 500 to 5,000 points according to height, then cuts and lifts you onto the wall. Large titans cannot catch you during Boost flight.
Mind your gas and the ground.Hooking and leaping burn gas. Collect canisters: an empty tank fires no cable, and in the forest they are scarce. Each metre scores a point; passing a titan scores 50; defeating a large one scores 100; defeating a giant scores 200; cutting a dummy scores 50; clearing a palisade scores 25. Your streak multiplies course points. Completing the course awards 5,000 points plus the rope height prize, without a multiplier.
BoostLink new posts, collect gas, defeat titans or skim the street in mid-leap, off the cable (the meter flashes gold), to charge Boost; it takes some filling. While you have no streak the meter drains, and losing a streak takes a big bite out of it. At 100%, the next post starts an orbit: hold for one full loop, then release to fly. Let go early and it is a normal jump; Boost waits for the next post. Hold again to hook a post on the way down. Large titans cannot catch you from launch until you hook a post again.
Chain your feats.Every new post, canister, titan, palisade, skim or boost adds to your streak and refills its bar. You rise from Cadet to Humanity’s Strongest Soldier and every point is worth up to ×7. Go a few seconds without a feat and the streak is lost.
About the game
An Attack on Titan game where you fly the ODM gear
ODM Training is a free browser game inspired by Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). Hold Space or the flight area to control your cadet’s cable; release to leap. Use E or the Cut button to attack.
Every run starts in a walled city, carries on across open country past the gate in the wall, with mountains on the horizon and riders firing signal flares, then passes through a forest of enormous trees and reaches a ruined district at the foot of the final wall. Inside the city the titans are small and you fly over them, or bring one down with a cut to the nape when it turns away, and the wooden training dummies only let you past once their napes are cut. Outside, large titans turn up too, in three skins, and come down the same way when they turn away: go for the nape, cut with E or the button, then launch toward another post. In the forest, giants carry their napes out of reach of a leap: hook the nape with your cable and cut before they shake you off, with gas running scarce. Large titans cannot catch you during Boost flight. Play on desktop or mobile, without downloads or sign-up. Along the way, palisades must be cleared from above, branches and beams must be cut, and tall posts ask you to hook from afar. A counterweight launches you onto the final wall. Catch its rope as high as possible for up to 5,000 extra points, and discover what awaits above. A streak multiplies course points as you chain feats.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free? Do I need to download anything?
It is free and runs straight in your browser, with no download or account. Your personal best is saved on this device.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Hold Grapple to fire the cable and lift it to leap. The game takes the whole screen when a run starts; turn your phone sideways to see more of the course.
Can you kill the titans?
Fly over small titans, or cut their napes when their backs are turned: you do not have to, but it lifts you a little, adds to your streak and charges Boost. Large ones only walk outside the wall: wait for their back to turn, go for the nape and press E or Cut; when you are close, the gear throws you onto it. You then fly up toward another post. The training dummies in the city are cut the same way. The forest's giants carry their napes higher: hook the nape with your cable while their back is turned and cut before they shake you off. Large titans cannot catch you during Boost flight. Passing one scores 50 points, defeating a small or large one 100 and defeating a giant 200.
What happens if I run out of gas?
Hooking, swinging and leaping burn gas. With an empty tank the cable won’t fire and letting go gives no thrust, so you end up on the ground: grab the canisters between the posts and near the titans.
What is the omni-directional mobility gear?
It is the system of cables, anchors and gas soldiers use to move between buildings and trees. We explain it in depth in what ODM gear is.
Does it spoil the series?
No. The game is set during the training of the cadets in the first episodes and tells nothing of the later story.
Is it an official Attack on Titan game?
No. It is a non-profit fan project with no affiliation with the rights holders.
