Pastor Nick is a prominent member of a religious group that worships the Walls and teaches that they are sacred protectors of humanity. A devoted believer, he openly opposes actions he considers disrespectful toward the Walls and defends their importance with unwavering conviction.
Opposes Eren at the Trial
During Eren's Trial, Pastor Nick speaks against allowing Eren Yeager to remain in military hands, treating his existence as a threat to the order protected by the Walls. His objection reflects the Wall-worshippers' rigid faith and their fear of anything that could endanger humanity's sacred refuge.
Refuses to Reveal the Wall Church's Secrets
After the discovery of a Titan within Wall Sina, Pastor Nick is confronted by Hange Zoë and members of the Survey Corps. Despite persistent questioning, he refuses to reveal what the Wall Church knows, insisting that its secrets must remain protected regardless of the pressure placed upon him.
Witnesses the Wall Rose Refugee Crisis
While traveling with Hange Zoë, Eren Yeager, Armin Arlert and the Survey Corps during the Wall Rose crisis, Pastor Nick passes through Ehrmich District, where crowds of displaced civilians attempt to flee toward Wall Sina. Witnessing the growing humanitarian crisis, he is urged once more by Levi to reveal what the Wall Church knows, yet he refuses to break his silence.
Entrusts Krista with the Truth
After steadfastly refusing every attempt to make him speak, Pastor Nick finally tells Hange Zoë that Krista Lenz may know more about the mysteries surrounding the Walls. Though he still withholds the Wall Church's secrets, he directs the Survey Corps toward someone he believes can provide the answers they seek.
Killed by Sannes and the Military Police
After refusing to reveal the Wall Church's secrets despite repeated pressure, Pastor Nick is captured and killed by Djel Sannes and members of the Military Police. Even under torture, he refuses to betray the beliefs he has protected for years, dying without revealing the information they sought.
