Rescue and Civil Evacuation
A Garrison soldier known for his steady presence in Shiganshina, Hannes moved quickly when Titans entered the outer district. He pulled Eren Yeager and Mikasa out of immediate peril and thereafter aided in organising frightened townsfolk, helping their orderly withdrawal toward the safety provided by the Walls.

Remembering Eren's Determination
After Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover carried off Eren Yeager, Hannes remained with Mikasa and Armin Arlert. As they reflected on Eren's childhood, Hannes recalled how the boy always refused to give up and somehow found a way to prevail.
