Kenny is a ruthless, drawling gunman who leads the Central Military Police's Anti-Personnel Control Squad. Once feared in the underground city as 'Kenny the Ripper', he wields vertical maneuvering gear and firearms with lethal precision.
Learns the Ackerman History
After meeting his dying grandfather, Kenny learns what happened to the Ackerman clan. He discovers that the family was persecuted because its members could not be controlled like most of the population, making them a threat to the king's rule. During the conversation, he also reflects on his sister's fate and on the hardships that scattered what remained of his family.
Joins Uri Reiss
After being defeated by Uri Reiss, Kenny is spared instead of executed. Moved by Uri's humility and his willingness to acknowledge the suffering endured by the Ackerman clan, Kenny accepts his offer to serve him. From that day on, he becomes one of Uri's closest followers and helps ease the persecution faced by the Ackermans.
Finds and Raises Levi
After learning that his sister had died, Kenny travels to the Underground City and finds the young Levi alone beside her body. Realizing he is his nephew, Kenny takes him in, teaches him the skills needed to survive in the underground, and later leaves him to make his own way.
Parts Ways with Uri Reiss
During one of their final meetings, Kenny and Uri Reiss reflect on the years they spent together. Kenny questions Uri's ideals, believing that only violence can change the world, while Uri speaks of his hope to create a peaceful haven for humanity before his time ends. Though they never fully agree, the conversation reaffirms the unlikely bond that grew from the day they first faced each other.
Inherits Uri's Mission
After Uri Reiss passes his power to Frieda Reiss, Kenny assumes command of the Central Military Police's Anti-Personnel Control Squad. Even as he carries out his duties, he continues to pursue a personal dream: to one day obtain the same power Uri possessed, believing it might allow him to understand the compassion and mercy that defined his former friend.
Kills Alma Before Historia
Following the Interior government's orders, Kenny kills Historia's mother, Alma, in front of Historia. Acting under the authority of the government and with the approval of Historia's father, he ensures that the child is spared only after her identity is concealed.
Ambush in Trost
Kenny leads the Anti-Personnel Control Squad in a surprise assault on Levi's squad within the Trost. Using firearms and maneuvering gear, his soldiers abduct Eren and Historia on the orders of the Interior government.
Kills Dimo Reeves
After Dimo Reeves is forced to cooperate with Levi, Kenny kills him without hesitation to silence him and erase any trace that could interfere with the Interior government's operation. He then frames the Scouts for the murder, further tightening the pressure on his enemies.
Guards the Reiss Chapel
Kenny commands the Anti-Personnel Control Squad to defend the entrance to the Reiss Chapel while Rod Reiss prepares the ritual. He holds off Levi and the Scouts, determined to prevent any interruption before the ceremony can be completed.
Duels Levi in the Chapel
When Levi and the Scouts break into the Reiss Chapel, Kenny's Anti-Personnel Control Squad clashes with them. Despite Armin's smoke-based strategy giving the attackers an advantage, Kenny joins the battle himself and engages Levi in a fast-paced duel using firearms and vertical maneuvering gear.
Confronts Rod and Frees Eren
After the ritual falls apart, Kenny angrily confronts Rod Reiss, accusing him of deceiving him with false promises. He openly questions Rod before Historia and then removes Eren's gag, allowing him to speak as the situation rapidly spirals out of control.
Gives Levi the Titan Serum
Gravely wounded after the battle near Orvud District, Kenny is found by Levi. As he reflects on his life and the path that led him to serve Uri Reiss, he reveals that he secretly took a Titan serum from Rod Reiss. Before dying, he entrusts the serum to Levi, leaving him with one final choice.
