Profile
King Fritz is the aged sovereign of the Walls, a frail old man who presides from the throne room of Mitras and dozes through the councils held in his name while his assembly of nobles decides the fate of humanity.
Presides Over the Royal Assembly
King Fritz sits at the head of an audience of nobles in Mitras while Rod Reiss argues for handing out food rations to the citizens of the Walls — an expense Rod defends as necessary to lift morale and improve the royal family's standing.
A King in Name Only
While the assembly debates the search for Eren and Historia, Fritz simply dozes off and Aurille reads out the message from Rod Reiss in his place. The king of the Walls is a stand-in, seated on the throne so that the man who truly rules never has to be seen.
Asleep Through Erwin's Trial
Fritz presides over Erwin Smith's trial with his eyes half open, letting the nobles conduct it. When Darius Zackly storms in to arrest the assembly, Aurille shakes the king awake and Fritz only asks, bewildered, whether it is time to eat. He is taken into custody with the rest.
Replaced by the True Heir
The uprising ends the Fritz name's reign inside the Walls. With Rod Reiss dead, the crown passes at Historia's coronation to Historia Reiss — the heir the puppet king had been standing in for all along.
