Profile
Gerald is a member of King Fritz's assembly and a high-ranking officer of the military, a blond aristocrat in uniform who treats the regiments as instruments of his own standing rather than of humanity's survival.
A Noble in Uniform
Gerald takes his place among the nobles before King Fritz, where he makes no secret of his displeasure that Djel Sannes extracted nothing from the interrogation of Pastor Nick.
Dismisses the Scouts
Against Aurille's caution, Gerald argues that whatever the Survey Corps has pieced together no longer matters — the assembly is ready to be rid of them. The meeting ends with Rod Reiss's letter announcing the capture of Eren and Historia.
Interrogates Erwin in His Cell
Gerald visits Erwin Smith's cell to begin his interrogation, and afterwards reports to the assembly that he learned nothing: in his reading, Erwin never got the truth out of Nick, and Historia can claim whatever name she likes without a shred of proof.
Turns the Trial on Erwin
At the trial Gerald sidesteps Erwin's case for reclaiming Wall Maria and holds up his repeated refusal to surrender Eren as a breach of the Charter of Humanity, then presses Dot Pixis on whether he has been Erwin's accomplice — laughing openly when Pixis calls the killing of fellow humans madness.
Arrested in the Throne Room
Gerald joins the other assemblymen in ordering Wall Sina shut to refugees, and is still discussing what the Reiss family will soon obtain when Darius Zackly declares the assembly unfit to lead and has him arrested.
