    Left Unarmed in Trost

    During the Defense of Trost, Marco overhears Reiner and Bertholdt discussing the Titans as weapons under their control and understands what they are. He tries to reason with them, but Reiner pins him down while Annie removes his maneuvering gear. They leave Marco unarmed before an approaching Titan and watch him be devoured, while he dies still asking why they would not talk to him.
