Profile
A tall Marleyan officer of the Public Security Authorities, first seen beating an Eldian child beside a river. He wears the uniform of the people who hunt his own, answers to the codename the Owl, and carries a power nobody around him suspects.
The Officer by the River
The first time Grisha Yeager meets him, the beating is his own: the Marleyan catches him outside the internment zone and knocks him down in front of his little sister, while his partner offers to walk the girl home. Afterwards he sits by the water, smokes, and tells the boy he may as well go and see the airship.
The Interrogator on the Wall
Years later, the same officer receives Grisha on the wall above the sea, where captured Eldians are injected and thrown down to become Pure Titans. As the others fall, he tells his superior that this prisoner needs further questioning, and keeps him alive.
The Owl Reveals Himself
He transforms, kills every Public Security soldier on the wall, then climbs back up and cuts Grisha loose. He gives his name — Eren Kruger — and explains what he is: a Subject of Ymir who forged his blood tests, infiltrated the enemy, and holds one of the Nine Titans.
The Fingers He Cut Off
Asked why he did not save Grisha's wife, Kruger admits what the disguise cost: thousands of Subjects of Ymir, women and children among them, whose fingers he cut off before sending them over the wall. He did it for Eldia, and all he has left is the debt.
The Name of the Titan
Thirteen years into his own power, Kruger hands Grisha the mission and the syringe: reach the walls, take back the Founding Titan, and love someone inside so the cycle breaks. Then he names what Grisha will inherit — the Titan that has always pushed forward, the Attack Titan.
Save Mikasa and Armin
Before the end, Kruger tells Grisha that he must see the mission through if he wants to save Mikasa, Armin and everyone else. Asked who they are, he admits he does not know — nor whose memories he is speaking from.
