A young warrior who came over the walls with Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover and did not survive the first night. He exists in the story as an absence: a comrade whose death neither of them will name aloud, and whose power ended up somewhere it was never meant to go.
He Talked His Brother Down
Porco was the obvious pick for the Armored Titan and Marcel made sure he did not get it: he praised Reiner to the selectors and criticised his own brother to their faces. It was not rivalry. A Warrior gets thirteen years, and he wanted his brother to have a whole life. He never told him, and then he ran out of time to.
The Titan That Took Him
A Titan rose out of the ground the night the warriors reached the island, and he shoved Reiner Braun clear and was taken in his place. Ymir's memory closes the circle: that Titan was hers. She woke as a human again, holding the power of a boy she never knew she had eaten.
The Apology That Took Eleven Years
The memory was never his brother's to receive: Porco ate Ymir and got her life, not Marcel's. It reaches him eleven years late and by accident, through Reiner's hand in the middle of a battle — Marcel apologising to Reiner for what he did, and saying plainly that all he wanted was to protect his brother.
The Brothers Fight Together
Ymir Fritz raises every holder the Nine ever had, and Zeke wakes a handful of them and asks them to change sides. For a few minutes at the end of the world Marcel and Porco fight side by side — the only time they ever get — and pull Jean and Pieck out from under the horde.
