Survey Corps Return to Shiganshina

The Survey Corps rides back into the outer district of Shiganshina after an expedition beyond the walls. Outsiders and residents gather along the streets to watch their arrival, voices a mixture of relief, admiration and unease. Some citizens still hold to the belief that leaving the safety of the walls is the only way to reclaim the world beyond; others openly question the human and material cost of every mission.

Returned soldiers show visible signs of fatigue and injury, their uniforms and mounts marked by the hardships of operating outside the walls. The scene underlines how perilous these sorties are and how seldom their gains seem to outweigh the losses. Among the onlookers, Eren Yeager watches with clear admiration for those who venture outside; the sight deepens his resolve to one day join the Survey Corps. Mikasa and Armin Arlert stand nearby, sharing the group's tension and curiosity as Shiganshina absorbs another return from beyond the walls.
