Profile
The Beast Titan is a towering, ape-like Titan whose appearance reveals abilities unlike those of any Titan previously encountered. Showing calm intelligence and an unsettling command over Pure Titans, it acts with purpose instead of instinct, introducing a new and deeply unsettling threat beyond anything humanity has faced before.
The Glasses Changed Hands
For thirteen years it belongs to Tom Xaver, who treats it as a research post rather than a weapon. In 842 Marley chains him to an underground altar and turns Zeke into a mindless Titan above him. Zeke eats the man who taught him to throw, inheriting the Beast Titan and keeping his glasses — the power and the plan passing together.
A Titan That Speaks
The Beast Titan appears while Mike Zacharias is fighting nearby Titans. Rather than attacking immediately, it speaks to him with clear intelligence, questions him about his ODM gear and takes the equipment for examination. Its deliberate behavior and apparent authority over the surrounding Pure Titans distinguish it from every Titan previously encountered.
Bombards Castle Utgard
During the assault on Castle Utgard, the Beast Titan remains at a distance and hurls massive rocks against the fortress with remarkable accuracy, supporting the attacking Pure Titans without entering the battle itself. As Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover notice its presence, their unusually tense reaction suggests they recognize the threat it represents.
Closes the Trap at Shiganshina
Once the Survey Corps enters Shiganshina District, the Beast Titan appears beyond Wall Maria with a ring of transformed Titans. It hurls a boulder into the district's inner gate, sealing the soldiers and their horses between two enemy forces and turning the operation into a trap.
A Perfect Game at the Horses
The Beast Titan crushes rocks in its hands and throws the fragments across the field where the Survey Corps has gathered its horses. Each volley tears through soldiers, animals and buildings from beyond ODM range, leaving Erwin Smith only a suicidal charge with which to draw its fire.
Cut Open by Levi
Hidden by the smoke and signal flares of the recruits' charge, Levi reaches the Beast Titan through the Titans surrounding it. He destroys its eyes, arms and legs before cutting Zeke from the nape; the victory lasts only seconds before another Titan carries the wounded Warrior away.
The Crown Was Next
The fifty-year plan treats it as a royal inheritance. After Zeke, Historia must take the Beast Titan, spend her thirteen years bearing as many heirs as possible and pass it to one of them. Keeping the Rumbling available means the power can never leave the crown; its proposed succession is a calendar written across the queen and her unborn children.
The Airstrike Over Fort Slava
Seen from Marley's side it is not a monster, it is a weapons platform. At Fort Slava it stands beyond every gun the enemy has, crushes leftover artillery shells in its hands and puts them through a fleet — and Titans made by its blood are dropped onto the fortress out of an airship while it works.
Killed on Cue in Liberio
During the raid on Liberio it appears to defend Marley's own city, and Levi tears it apart in the street. The victory is staged: Zeke is already working with the attackers and leaves alive on their airship. The Titan's defeat is the war chief's disappearance from Marley, performed before the Warriors who trust him and the children raised to replace him.
Hardened, and Still Not Enough
It learned from the first time. In the rematch it hardens the nape before Levi can reach it — the one thing that would have saved it at Shiganshina. Levi puts Thunder Spears through the hardening anyway and blows Zeke out of the nape before it can close.
Shot from Wall Maria
When Marley invades Shiganshina, it returns to the top of Wall Maria and clears the Titans off Eren with its throws. The same arm that destroyed a fleet at Fort Slava tears through Marley's airships, until Magath and the Cart Titan put an artillery round into it and knock it from the wall.
The Body That Played Dead
A second round goes through its nape after Zeke's scream. The Beast Titan dissolves with its holder hidden inside, convincing Marley that both are dead until Eren abandons his own Titan and runs towards him. Losing the body buys Zeke the few seconds he needs to bring royal blood and the Founder within reach of each other.
The Beast with Nobody Inside
At Fort Salta a white Beast Titan grows from the Founder's spine and throws the last airship fleet out of the sky. Reiner destroys it, but there is no Zeke in the nape: it is a body built on the Founder, while the holder remains elsewhere. The shape has become a weapon that no longer needs the man who made it feared.
It Has Worn Every Animal
When every holder the Nine ever had is raised at once, this one is not a single silhouette but a herd: the ape is only the current shape. Its previous carriers have come back as birds, elk, wolves, snakes, horses, an okapi, a bighorn sheep. Whatever decides the form, it is not the power and it is not the holder's choice.
Final fate
Titan succession
Tom Xaver
Before the voice on Wall Maria there was a man who thought this Titan was useless in a war and said so out loud. Tom Xaver took it as a way of ending himself on a schedule and spent the thirteen years studying what it was instead of fighting with it — then had himself chained to an altar and handed it on.
Zeke
For years it was only a voice and a silhouette on the horizon. On Wall Maria, the night before the battle, the man who steps out of it turns out to give Reiner and Bertholdt their orders — and to be hunting the same power Eren Yeager carries.
