Colt's younger brother and the second-best of the Warrior candidates, which is exactly the position he wants to lose. He is gentler than the programme has any use for: he treats the wounded on both sides, carries letters for men nobody visits, and is the only one of the four who asks what any of it is for.
He Carried an Enemy Into the Trench
At Fort Slava he leaves cover to reach Gabi under fire, and takes a wound for it that Colt has to carry him back from. Then he goes out again and drags in a dying enemy soldier so the candidates can treat him. Udo translates what the man is saying: he is cursing the devils who saved his life. Koslow laughs.
The Veteran in the Hospital
Back in Liberio he starts visiting the hospital and running letters between the beds of men who came home with a leg missing and no country. One of them, a bandaged patient who gives the name Kruger, tells him it is a good thing he will not become a Warrior, because it means he gets to be old. Falco tells him he is trying to win precisely so Gabi will not.
He Went and Fetched Reiner
The patient asks him for one favour before he goes home: find Reiner Braun, an old friend, so the two can say goodbye. Falco walks into the Warriors' table, calls Reiner out and leads him down to the man waiting under the streets. He is doing a kindness for a cripple. He is delivering the Attack Titan to the only person in Liberio who could confirm the target.
He Stowed Away on the Airship
He cannot stop Gabi going after the retreating enemy, so he goes with her, and the two of them ride a dead soldier's gear up onto the departing airship while Colt watches from below and cannot reach them. What they find in the hold is Zeke, alive, and the understanding that the raid on their city was run from inside their own unit.
He Ate at Their Table
Loose on the island with Gabi, the two of them are taken in by Kaya, who asks no questions and gives them work, a bed and meals. He eats at that table for weeks knowing exactly what Gabi did aboard the airship, and says nothing. Then she says it herself, to Nicolo and to the father of the soldier she shot, and Falco watches the cook open a wine bottle over her head with nothing left to offer in her defence.
The Wine He Was Given
At a restaurant table on the island he is poured a glass of wine as a kindness. It has Zeke's spinal fluid in it, like every bottle Nicolo has been serving to soldiers for months. Falco is separated out and locked up with the others who drank: no longer a boy waiting for a Titan, but a Titan waiting for a scream.
He Ate the Jaw Titan
The scream comes, Colt refuses to let go of him, and the transformation kills his brother where he stands. The mindless Titan that stands up goes for Reiner's nape — and stops, because Porco Galliard has stumbled out of his own Titan to die and offers himself instead. Falco comes back to himself holding the Jaw Titan and the knowledge of what it cost.
He Lost Control at the Harbour
Told to stay out of the fight for the docks, he transforms anyway and clears the last of the Yeagerists with Pieck. Then the Titan stops being his: he turns on her, hurts her badly, and Magath has to cut him out of his own nape with a blade and carry his unconscious body onto the boat.
The Jaw Titan That Flies
His Titan came out wrong — a long neck, a hinged mouth, and something on its back nobody has seen on a Jaw Titan before. The spinal fluid he swallowed was Zeke's, and with it came a memory belonging to a holder of the Beast Titan who could fly. He works out mid-crisis that he can do it too, and becomes the only way anyone gets on or off Eren's back.
He Got to Be Old
He carries the alliance in and out of the last battle until Mikasa is close enough to end it, and takes the only wound he cannot fly off. Then the power goes out of the world and the Jaw Titan simply leaves him — no thirteen years, no successor, nothing to hand on. The bandaged man in the hospital had told him he was lucky not to be a Warrior, because it meant he would get to be old. It was Eren Yeager saying it, and it turned out to be true.
